Well, here we go. Day three of the new training schedule and my body feels great. It's hard to hold myself back and not push the pace - but I know that is how I get injured, so I just have to take it nice and slow and start building my base slowly. Had a fantastic run today - albeit on the treadmill because it is too snowy and icy to go outside today. Nonetheless, I feel great. Can't wait to see how consistent training this winter will shape up. I am so grateful that my motivation is back up, and that I have people in Halifax that I can train with. Thanks guys!!

Well, it's almost the end of the year, which means reflecting on the past season. I'm pretty happy with my races this year, and I've learned a lot about myself as an athlete (and a person!). Thank goodness I have a sport I can turn to when things in other avenues of life go wrong. I'm not proud of some of my actions in the past few months, and I fear I may have done some lasting damage...talk about being scared. But I suppose, once bitten twice shy applies in this case. I have been spending a lot of time in agony over decisions I made. Ridiculous. In terms of sports, however, I can throw myself into January's training with gusto, pretend everything is ok, and start building a strong base for my upcoming race season. So much is going to change in the next few months. I will make a decision that will effect the next 4 years (and possibly the rest) of my little life. A lot to think about....
